Fans of Critical Role, also known as “Critters” have been enjoying The Legend Of Vox Machina on Prime Video, and are eagerly awaiting the third season. What started as a Kickstarter campaign, intending to make a few episodes, evolved into an entire season. It was then picked up by Amazon Prime, whom they have an exclusive multi-year deal with. The first campaign currently has two animated seasons, with a third on the way. It tells the story of the first campaign in animated form. A while back, Critical Role made another exciting announcement, that their second campaign is also going to be adapted into an animated series for Amazon Prime. No other details were revealed, however, in a new interview, Matthew Mercer, the Dungeon Master of Critical Role, gives fans some insight as to what we can expect in the Mighty Nein animated series.

Mercer has revealed that they are currently “in heavy development of Campaign 2’s animated series and it's coming along so well”. He also says it's exciting that they get to see “other perspectives of the narrative, as opposed to just the Mighty Nein’s journey”. He mentions how fans will get to see the campaign, which will be explored in the animated series. Nothing was revealed about the number of episodes or when it might be released.

Liam O’Brien, another member of Critical Role, who played the wizard, Caleb Widogast, said that the animated series was “coming along beautifully”. The things he has seen have blown him away, and he knows that people are going to love it. Speaking of Caleb, fan-favorite Essek Thelyss will be seen in the show. Mercer reveals that fans will get to “see story threads that follow members of the Cerberus Assembly and Essek and the Dynasty”.
