Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Digital Released Earlier than Expected

Disney has brought the final chapter to the Skywalker Saga home a few days early.

Big news Star Wars Fans Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available for purchase, days earlier than expected. Presumably in reaction to the global Corona virus outbreak Disney announced today that the conclusion to the Skywalker saga will be available for purchase on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, and Vude on Friday, instead of its scheduled Tuesday release next week.

The movie is only available to buy for now -- the 1080p version will cost $20, while the 4K UHD version will cost $25. Alongside this release Disney has also added Frozen 2, the followup to the 2013 blockbuster hit.
Purchase Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Plus Bonus Content)
Purchase Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (4K UHD)
Extras Include  The Skywalker Legacy a feature-length documentary, as well as a behind the sense look into the desert scenes. There is also a digital exclusive on composer John Williams who penned the entire Sagas score.

This will be available March 31st alongside the Blu-ray DVD and Ultra 4K HD versions of the film. The digital will be available April 13th, followed by the physical versions on April 20.

For those of you that like to have it all the prequels, the original trilogy, The Force Awakens and Rouge One will be released in 4K Blu-ray for the first time on March 31. I know I will be picking myself up those copies when they hit stores. Finally, there is a $250 Skywalker Saga 4K UHD box set coming to Best Buy, with 27 discs containing all 9 films from the main saga, 26 hours of special features, a exclusive Death Star style box, and concept art book and a personal letter from non other than Mark Hamill himself.

For right now, we have most of the films on Disney+ so with more coming in the next coming months we will have plenty of content to explore and enjoy. Solo is leaving Netflix in July so we expect Disney to make that available on Disney+ in August or September. It is an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan and I can not wait to see what is coming down the pipeline from Disney.
