Over the past few days, one of the major league streaming titans from Twitch (an Amazon-owned company) has been served with a permanent ban for seemingly no reason.  Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm tweeted out on June 27th that at the time of the ban-hammer being issued, he was unaware as to the reason behind it.

For those unfamiliar, Dr Disrespect was one of the largest streamers on the Twitch platform with 4 million followers and 49,000 subscriptions at his peak. The Dr Disrespect persona includes the glasses, the mustache, the wig, the voice, and the mannerisms all evoking a 1980's wrestler character. Here are a few of his most popular clips. Additionally, one claim to fame that he has is his tenure as a professional level designer on the ever popular Call of Duty franchise.

With the internet being...well, the internet, various rumors regarding the reason behind the abrupt ban have begun to pop up and spread. These range from minor claims about Twitch simply wanting to remove a "cis" heterosexual white male to more serious claims of evidence of abuse toward women.

Although no official length of time has been presented as to the true duration of his ban, independent e-sports journalist Rod "Slasher" Breslau submitted a report on June 26th that it was permanent, as well as not related to any sort of Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedowns. However, Twitch did issue a statement simply stating that it as an issue with either their terms of service or community guidelines, which is not really saying much.

With all that said, it would seem that Mr. Beahm's fans have been helping him and his wife over the course of the past few days by providing loads of positive encouragement, as evidenced by this message shared via Discord by the wife's Instagram page "Mrs Assassin." Lastly of note, Dr Disrespect's various sponsors who had dropped him temporarily have since reinstated their endorsement of said streamer.
