Title Screen From ‘LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’ May Have Leaked

Legos and Star Wars have gone hand in hand for about as long as The Phantom Menace has been around. They are two brands that have fueled the imaginations of many people around the world. Many kids (and adults) over the years have had the chance to build Star Wars characters and vehicles out of Lego pieces. The popularity of the line eventually led to the launch of a video game series from Traveller's Tales, starting with 2005's Lego Star Wars: The Video Game. Along with the video games that followed since then, there have been Lego Star Wars shorts and TV shows.

With the release of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2016, there was an expectation from fans that the remaining films in the sequel trilogy would be adapted into their own individual Lego Star Wars games. Surprisingly, that ended up not being the case. However, gamers will now be able to play levels across all nine Skywalker saga entries via the upcoming game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

While there has not been much unveiled since last year's trailer, it appears that we now know a bit of what to expect from the title screen. On July 30, a post (supposedly from an insider who has access to the game) made its way to a Discord server connected to a subreddit dedicated to the game. This post showcased separate parts of what appears to be the title screen of the game. While the original Reddit post has been removed, there has been an attempt by Grant Davis over at Star Wars News Net to arrange the images in their possible positions. According to the post, the gap between the disconnected parts is not up to scale, and is supposedly bigger than Davis had expected. Just as Lego builders would do, fans tried piecing together how the images would possibly fit together.

Shortly after the original Reddit post came out, another image featuring a different portion of the title screen leaked. It appears to be toward the bottom left, with some edges matching the bottom image from the initial post. Finally, in the early hours of July 31, YouTuber Rugged Eagle featured the full leaked image in a video titled LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga LEAKED Full Menu Discussion & Breakdown.

As one would expect, the full image depicts Lego versions of prominent characters from across all three trilogies. The lit up lightsabers really draw one's gaze and bring to mind all the duels that happened across the nine films. Some characters are not wielding any weapons, but of course, they are still recognizable without them. After all, weapons are not all that make the characters. Even Yoda is not carrying a lightsaber, though it should be remembered that we did not see him with one when he was initially introduced in The Empire Strikes Back.

It is a bit odd that we have gotten very few glimpses of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but it is still assuring to know that it is coming. It is expected for 2020, though no release date has been confirmed. It should be interesting for fans to see which settings from the films get featured, and how some of the familiar ones from previous games may have been updated. Even if one has not played any of the previous games, this is likely to be an accessible piece of fun that one does not need to take too seriously. It may even usher in a new generation of fans who have had no prior experience with Star Wars.
