Video From Marvel Entertainment Showcases Top Moments From 'Agents of SHIELD' To Commemorate The Series' End

TV Recap - "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 7, Episode 6 - "Adapt or Die" - LaughingPlace.com

Last week, viewers tuned in to see the series finale of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, which ran from 2013 to 2020. Surely, very few would have predicted this show lasting a whopping seven seasons. (Speaking for myself, I expected five at most, and I was totally wrong.) The show started off simply as a tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Over time, it stopped tying in as much and became more of its own thing. Some fans have had their issues with the show, but it maintained its own following over the years.

Needless to say, when shows end, people want to remember or be reminded of some of the best moments of the series. The culmination of moments is what makes the ending as powerful as it is. On August 12, the day that the series ended, Marvel Entertainment released a video titled “Top moments from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!”

Within five minutes, the video shows moments from across the show’s seven seasons, in chronological succession and with the seasons and episodes marked on each clip.

We would be here for a while if we were to describe every single moment, but there are highlights worth mentioning. As one might expect, the video begins from the very first episode, the one that started it all. Who could forget Agent Phil Coulson driving a flying car at the end of the first episode, showing that the series would have some lighthearted moments even if there were serious stories? Coulson had such a major role throughout the series. As a major player in SHIELD, it was very gratifying to see him wield a shield of his own. The original appeal of the show was to see how Agent Coulson was revived after his apparent death in The Avengers.

Of course, Coulson was not the only major character, as other characters allowed for the show to go in various directions. Introduced as Skye, we got to see the evolution of Daisy Johnson, and her use of her powers as Quake is included in this highlight reel. Fans were also very invested in the relationship between Fitz and Simmons. Naturally, their wedding ceremony made it into this video. We even get to see their grandson Deke performing Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” after time traveling and convincing people in the 1980s that he came up with it

Needless to say, the series went all over the place, and time travel was not even the beginning of it. In the middle of the series, we saw the supernatural in the form of Danny Reyes / Ghost Rider, who is showcased in his own moment. For better or for worse, Agents of SHIELD went all over the place, sometimes making the overall direction of the show unpredictable to the viewers.

And of course, the video includes the team’s farewell gathering at the end of the series finale. This highlight reel would not have been complete without it. Despite all the ups and downs, this scene is very essential to the show, and works very well as an ending to the series.

There are sure to be other moments that avid Agents of SHIELD fans may wish had been included within this video. That being said, it does a good job of summarizing good moments from across the show overall. Those who have stuck with the show and enjoyed much of what it has had to offer will miss it, but they will continue to remember it. (Especially if they keep rewatching the series in the future and commit more moments to memory.)
