'Star Wars' Announces Official Day For 'The Mandalorian' Merchandise And Content Reveals

The Mandalorian continues to shine in the spotlight as we get closer and closer to the much-anticipated release of season 2.

Star Wars recently released the season 2 trailer, which has generated a lot of fan discussion online.

Fans have speculated on whether there are hints of Boba Fett in the trailer. whether the snow planet that the Mandalorian visits is Ilum, and who the big bad of the season might be (aside from Moff Gideon, who is already solidly confirmed to play a large role).

The show also garnered several Emmy's wins after previously receiving 15 nominations. The wins were in seven categories, and were comprised of: "Outstanding Special Visual Effects," "Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie," "Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series," "Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation," "Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour)," "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score)," and "Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation."

Star Wars has started rolling out new merchandise for The Mandalorian, and recently, Star Wars announced a new segment titled "Mando Mondays." They released a tweet teasing the event, which starts Oct. 26th, which included a video to aid in the announcement.

StarWars.com's blurb about Mando Mondays reads:

"A bounty of all-new products, books, comics and video game content updates inspired by The Mandalorian awaits!"

The page displays the trailer for season 2, a link to Disney+, and pre-orders for a staggering array of exciting new products that will be launching the day that season 2 drops.

Among those are a new LEGO set of The Child, a whole collection of new Funko Pops, a new Star Wars edition of Monopoly, and even a new Mandalorian-themed polaroid camera

The LEGO set of The Child will retail for $79.99 and includes over 1,000 pieces, standing over 7.5" high. LEGO's blurb reads:

"Turn the cuteness factor up to the max with this LEGO® Star Wars™ The Child (75318) build-and-display model. Authentic details of this popular character, affectionately known as Baby Yoda, are recreated in LEGO style, with posable head, ears and mouth for different expressions, plus the Child’s favorite toy – a gearshift knob (element included) – for it to hold just like it does in Star Wars: The Mandalorian."

For those who prefer pre-built figurines, the new line of Funko Pops features several different iterations of the Mandalorian and the Child together as well as separately, and some pops featuring supporting characters from season 1, such as Kuill, the Armorer, and Cara Dune, are already available.

The new Star Wars edition of Monopoly retails for $39.99 and is a great gift for the family, especially during a time when a lot of us are spending so much time at home.

But what is perhaps most interesting to me is the polaroid camera and film, since this is a rather unusual item to theme after a movie or tv show.

You can purchase the camera alone for $119.99, the film for $17.99, or a starter set that includes the camera and several rolls of film for $169.99. This is definitely a more unusual Star Wars item, which may mean it's one you'll want to check out!

There is a quite extensive line of new action figures featured on the StarWars.com website, too, from an array of brands like Sideshow and, of course, Star Wars' own The Black Series.

We cannot wait to see what else comes out of Mando Mondays, and it will be exciting to have regular announcements to look forward to. Not long now until The Mandalorian season 2 premieres!
