The Rumors Of Pedro Pascal Leaving 'The Mandalorian' Are False

These past several weeks, we have been hearing about the rumors of Pedro Pascal being out as The Mandalorian and pretty much just lending his voice acting for the character going forward on season 3, which Disney has confirmed will be filming next month. It has also been rumored that Pedro Pascal had some problems while the actor was on set. Allegedly, the reason Pedro Pascal wanted out as The Mandalorian was because he wanted to be seen by taking off his helmet, which led to clashing with the creator of The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau, as well as Dave Filoni. Another rumor that was reported was that Pascal actually went to Lucasfilm in an attempt for Lucasfilm to step in and be on his side, but it did not work out as he planned. This cost the creators to tell Pascal to leave the set, which the rumor said he did, and costing of the shift of the character in The Mandalorian season 2 to focus on other characters. The focus on other characters was something confirmed by Jon Favreau in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

There is another rumor update from “the future ruler of Earth,” Doomcock from the Overlord DVD YouTube channel providing with information such as Star Wars leaks as of late such as Disney losing their confidence with Brie Larson and Captain Marvel, which Kevin Feige switched focus to focus on Scarlet Witch now instead of Carol Danvers. The story supposedly goes that Pascal never went up to Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy about allowing him to be seen in the show without his helmet, but instead, he had mentioned it to George Lucas on set one day in hopes that the creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni change their mind to have his helmet off and be seen. As they respected George Lucas, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni with all due respect, did not change their mind, so Pascal became upset, showing his disappointment by showing up on set late, costing friction between other cast and crew, as well as being jealous at Gina Carano’s character and The Child with their attention receiving, which making the creators to tell Pascal to leave half way season 2 and making the shift to another character to focus, which mostly, in part, to Gina Carano’s character, Cara Dune.

All of these rumors have never been confirmed by Disney nor Lucasfilm. Some might be tempted to believe that the rumors are true. Remember when the world was sucked in with the rumor of actress Rosario Dawson to play Ahsoka Tano? For weeks, we were  wondering if it was true or not, then of course, a few weeks ago, Disney and Lucasfilm inadvertently confirmed that Rosario Dawson is in The Mandalorian season 2. This rumor could be true, although it has not been confirmed by Disney and Lucasfilm because, knowing them, they would probably try to keep this quiet since the premiere of The Mandalorian season 2 is very soon (premiering on October 30th on Disney+) to avoid bad publicity on the show to keep Star Wars fans and audience to watch the show without any bad image behind it or most importantly to have bad publicity on The Mandalorian season 3 which will be filming next month, afraid of losing viewers and fans around the world.

It is a bit strange that Disney and Lucasfilm have not denied the rumor or even Pedro Pascal himself has not confront the media to deny it. Or maybe a game of politics they are playing? Just to boost up and free marketing for The Mandalorian season 2. Although Jon Favreau somewhat confirmed that they will be shifting to focus on another character, but that could shift to that character for their own spin off, we never know. As for now, we just have to take this as grain of salt and see how things are on the production of The Mandalorian season 3. We hope Disney and Lucasfilm will confirm on this, either this is true or not. For now, however, it is probably a safe bet that this is false.
