Mark Hamill Drops Another Tearjerking Tribute To Carrie Fisher On Twitter

When the world lost Carrie Fisher back in 2016, it was a shocker to everyone. The collective fanbase and her closest friends and family all joined in mourning the actress who was a true pop culture icon in her role as Princess Leia. We all remember the days following as people shared their favorite memories of Fisher both in Star Wars and in life.

Mark Hamill, best known for playing her onscreen brother Luke Skywalker, has continued to talk about how amazing of a person Fisher was and how many amazing memories he will have of their shared time for the rest of his life. Hamill has been very vocal about Fisher, saying she could always make him laugh and nothing compares to the time they spent on screen together. A recent clip posted to Hamill’s Twitter and Instagram shows the two laughing and joking together as they prepare for some of the series’ most iconic scenes. They genuinely loved the moments they shared together.

Hamill and Fisher appeared in six different Star Wars movies together all the way from 1977’s A New Hope to 2019 as scenes were shot for Leia in The Rise of Skywalker. Fisher’s death was both tragic and sudden, leaving a hole in the Star Wars universe that can never be filled. Princess Leia, who later became General Leia, could never be played by another actress. It would be impossible to attempt a recast and it is not guaranteed that fans would be accepting of it if it were to occur.

While fans know her for her role in the Star Wars series, those close to her have been adamant that the world see Carrie Fisher for who she truly was. She was someone that everyone loved and adored, and wanted to be around. Hamill continues to post a tribute to Fisher every year along with her daughter Billie Lourd. What makes Fisher’s loss so tragic is mere days after her death the world also received news that her mother Debbie Reynolds also passed away.

There is no time or number of clips in the world that can replace the ones we love in this world and Carrie Fisher is yet another shining example of that. She was known for being brash, funny, and honest, something more people should strive to be. These clips remind us just how close a cast can become over the years especially when you pop in and out of each other’s lives periodically for over 40 years. No one could have ever imagined the lasting impact that the three stars of the original Star Wars film would have on the world.

As the Star Wars fanbase continues to grow, the discourse surrounding Carrie Fisher and her legacy on and off the screen will continue forever. She is a legend in the industry and has a plaque enshrining that legacy at the TCL Chinese Theatre. Fans and those who knew Fisher will continue to share their love, memories, and timeless photos and video reminders of what made Carrie Fisher so iconic and unique for multiple generations. It goes without saying that Fisher will forever be missed and the joy she spread will forever be cherished among her peers. She lived a life worth celebrating and to see it celebrated so openly will always bring sadness along with the eternal hope that we can live just as full as Carrie Fisher did. She will forever be linked to the Star Wars fandom. With the internet and social media, the outpouring of love on her birthday and the anniversary of her passing will likely continue for many years to come. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher. Thank you for everything you contributed to our world.
