New LEGO 'Star Wars' Special, 'Summer Vacation' Premieres On Disney+ August 5th

What better way to cool off this summer than a beach vacation? At least this seems to be the thinking with the newest LEGO Star Wars property, LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation' set to premiere on August 5th. The special will focus on Finn and the rest of the sequel trilogy's main characters as they vacation aboard the galactic starcruiser, The Halcyon. Set after episode IX, the adventure will focus on the group of resistance fighters trying to unwind. While Finn plans for the best vacation of their lives.

Though, at some point, things go awry, Finn winds up alone at the bar over a drink when the ghost of Obi-Wan unexpectedly appears and tells Finn about a vacation he had taken involving Jabba the Hutt dancing. Like other LEGO installments in the franchise, this will be split into three separate tales inside the main story. Even Anakin and Leia are making returns to share stories with Finn. One of the stories will even cover something fans have wanted to see in any capacity for a while, Ben Solo flying his father's ship, The Millenium Falcon. And, of course, the sense of humor that has marked other LEGO series and movies remains here. Before Ben takes off in The Falcon, Leia warns him not to lose a hand, saying, "That's a thing in our family."

The casting for Summer Vacation has several Star Wars alumni, including Kelly Marie Tran and Billy Dee Williams reprising their roles from the films. But perhaps the most exciting addition to the cast is an actor playing the role of Vic Vankoh, Weird Al Yankovic himself. Fans who know about Star Wars: Detours, an animated show that never made it to the screen, will recognize that this isn't the first time he's been offered a role. However, this is the first time we fans will see him appear, and it should be no surprise that he has written a song for the show titled "Scarif Beach Party," given his success with 1999's "The Saga Begins." LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation is shaping up to look like a hilarious entry in the brickmaker's contributions to the Star Wars universe so remember to keep an eye out on August 5th for the premiere on Disney+.
