Rosario Dawson Talks Ahsoka Tano

Rosario Dawson on stage at Celebration

Rosario Dawson is one of the many Star Wars actors in attendance at Star Wars Celebration this weekend in Anaheim, California, and thus got an off-panel sit-down interview. Hers was with Natasha Liu Bordizzo, her Ahsoka co-star playing Sabine Wren in the character's live-action debut. Of course, they got quite the applause from the crowd.

The first thing Dawson was asked was whether she did her research, in essence, whether she watched Tano's appearances in The Clone Wars and Rebels. Of course, she did, but I certainly wondered how many times. Not that it's a requirement, but she's already been in the role since the second season of The Mandalorian, and I trust that she had done so then, and probably again more recently, especially with the spinoff going into production. She even shows off the knowledge of her backstory.

Natasha soon gets her chance, reiterating that she was cast a week ago, remarking that Ahsoka production began three weeks ago. They both mention the dedicated crew, even spending their "days off" working. It's not a good versus bad story, it's a character journey. And finally, they get executive producers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau's lauding of the fans, and that was the note the chat ended on.
