New Yoda Comic Book And Visions Story Announced At Star Wars Celebration

Master Yoda

The news keeps coming out of Star Wars Celebration today, and this might be the most exciting announcement yet. Lucasfilm and Marvel will be issuing a ten-series Yoda comic covering his history. The comics will be made of three trilogy story arcs and a final issue tying it all together. Taking place before Luke comes to Dagobah we will see a reflective Jedi Master in exile ruminating on his life and legacy.

During a panel today Cavan Scott showed issues one through three taking place in the High Republic. We also know that Yoda's final apprentice Count Dooku will appear in the arc, giving us a rough window of time for events to unfold. The decision to explore Yoda's past is unsurprising given the 900 years of material to go off. Though it is a tricky endeavor to pull off, George Lucas has been protective of the mysterious past of the Jedi Master. We don't even know the name of his species, and that is unlikely to change.

There was another announcement during the panel that perked our ears as well. Marvel has announced their foray into the world of Star Wars: Visions. The most interesting fact about this entry, it will not be an adaptation of an existing episode but will be something new. However, those are all of the details they saw fit to give us.
