Today is the day that we have all been waiting for! Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy has been released and is ready to take you on an action packed adventure that takes you on a thrill ride like I have never seen before. From the official synopsis:

Jupiter's Legacy follows the story of the world's first superheroes who received their powers in the 1930s. In the present day, they are the revered elder guard but their superpowered children struggle to live up to the legendary feats of their parents.

When I started watching the series I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the cinematography on par with Marvel’s ‘The Avengers.’ The amount of time and work that the CGI team that worked on this show put in to bring the beautiful landscapes and visuals that Jupiter’s Legacy presents are astounding. This show is on par with the visual work with other Netflix Titles such as Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy.

Going into the first episode, not being familiar with the source material, I was confused with the pacing of the show and didn’t initially understand the difference between the present day scenes and the scenes going back into the past. After a few episodes I caught on and I fell in love with the way they subtly make the viewer understand what time period they are in and the way the show is color scaled was amazing!  If you are looking for a visually appealing show, you will want to watch Jupiter’s Legacy.

With that said, I cannot stress enough how much I adore the pacing of the series perfectly blending together events that are taking place in the present day along with the expeditionary storytelling. As the show is revealed to the viewer you are able to understand the full scope of the show and how the events of present day are unfolding in relation to the events that are happening in the past. This show doesn’t miss a beat when going into the details the viewer needed to understand the show's story points. Its perfectly crafted non-linear storytelling goes into deeper writing to explain characters motivations in the present day and showing their origins in the past.

As soon as I started watching this show, it had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what exactly was happening in the story with Sheldon Sampson, his mindscape and his seeming descent into madness. His character is played by Josh Duhamel, and plays well off of Ben Daniels’ Walter Sampson. Every time these two are on screen the tension of the older/younger brother shows and reveals how much Walter truly cares about Sheldon and just wants the best for him. The show also features a stellar cast with Grace, played by Leslie Bibb, and George Hutchene who is played by Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Matt Lanter.

If you are looking for a brand new show to sink your teeth into, are looking for adventure at every turn, an incredibly written story, plot twists at every turn and stunning visuals - look no further than Jupiter’s Legacy which premieres May 7, 2021 on Netflix.
