Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade Passes Away After Battle With Cancer At Age 23

Technoblade, a Minecraft YouTuber with over ten million subscribers, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 23. His channel's last video titled "So Long Nerds" is a heartfelt farewell message. Technoblade's father said that the YouTuber wrote the letter to his fans about eight hours before he passed.

His last message thanked fans for buying his merchandise and channel memberships, which will be used to support his siblings through college. He went on to add, "If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time, at those were the happiest years of my life."

Technoblade had been a YouTuber for over ten years, amassing an impressive following of over 12 million subscribers. During this time, He shared his love of Minecraft with the world. Technoblade had always kept his real identity a secret, going so far as to upload a prank video where a sibling calls him Dave (his real name was Alex). Last year, he sadly announced his diagnosis in a video after having arm pain that he initially attributed to a repetitive stress injury.

Popular YouTuber and friend TommyInnit offered a statement:

"Technoblade is a legend. From being a massive fan, to one of his actual friends, I can't describe how thankful I am to have been in his life. I just know he's strategizing in heaven on how to beat God."

Technoblade’s father described him as "the most amazing kid" who will be dearly missed. Social media has been flooding with responses from fans, celebrities, and other streamers.

The Sarcoma Foundation of America CEO Brandi Felser stated that the charity will recognize Technoblade with its Courage Award, an annual award given to people who inspire others to create hope and a better life for the sarcoma community. Technoblade and his community raised over $500,000 for sarcoma research, and his legacy will impact generations to come.

The video ended with a statement from Technoblade’s family:

"This past year had a lot of rough spots for our son as he battled stage four cancer. But he didn't complain, and kept using his famous strategic mind to try to beat what he knew were almost impossible odds. My son's bravery on this path was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him. Thank you for sharing his journey through it all, as he did the work he loved for his beloved fans."

He will be greatly missed.
