Star Wars Celebration isn't only about Star Wars it would seem. After announcing more details about the new show Andor, Lucasfilm executives treated panel guests at Celebration to the first new details and trailer for the upcoming sequel series to the 1988 movie Willow starring Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer.

A little backstory. Willow follows the adventure of Willow as he seeks to protect a child, Elora, prophesied to end the evil Queen Bavmorda's reign. Queen Bavmorda knows of the prophecy and imprisons all pregnant mothers within her realm. Elora's mother convinces a midwife to smuggle the child out and before she is hunted down, she puts Elora into a basket and floats her down the river like the story of Moses, and the river delivers the child to the Nelwyn. There, the village decides that Willow and his party should deliver Elora back to her kind. Along the way, Willow, an aspiring wizard, meets Madmartigan, a mercenary down on his luck, and together they embark on an adventure to keep Elora safe and end Queen Bavmorda's evil rule.

It's been more than 30 years since the film, but fans have been craving more from the beloved story, and they're finally getting it with the release of the trailer today. The trailer depicts Willow among a new cast of characters on some sort of adventure, with Willow saying they must go into the unknown and talking about how the universe demands correction when the balance between good and evil is thrown off. Jon Kasdan is slated, alongside Ron Howard, as Executive Producers. Joanne Whalley reprises her role as Sorsha, and of course, Warwick Davis returns as the titular Willow.

In a discussion after the panel, Kasdan reveals the show will examine what happened to Elora after the movie. He also revealed that Kilmer, although unavailable to film as Madmartigan for season one (perhaps a hint that he'll be back in season two?), has been in contact with Kasdan and Whalley, and Davis throughout the project and he'll be an important character in the story.

The new series will be released on November 30th on Disney+.
