Ryan Gosling Says That He Would Love To Be The Next Actor For 'Ghost Rider'

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider has not graced the big screen since Nicholas Cage’s two films Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance. Fans have been clamoring for the character to join the MCU for quite some time, and since Moon Knight’s introduction and the Netflix series’ arrival to Disney+ it feels more and more likely. Though Ghost Rider did join the MCU in the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that series has been since declared out of the canon. While it seems all are in agreement that it’s time for the character to arrive, just one question remains: Who will play him? Well if you ask Ryan Gossling, he thinks it should be him.

Recently, the actor sat down with the host of MTV News to discuss rumors of him playing the character Nova in the MCU. While he shot down those rumors, he was quick to express his desire to play the spirit of vengeance. Whether or not this will lead to Kevin Feige picking up the phone is yet to be seen, but if the internet rallies in support it could be a possibility. Jon Krasinski was cast as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness after his name would repeatedly pop up in fan cast lists. If the MCU were to repeat this method of fan casting, Gosling would be up against Keanu Reeves to portray the character. Reeves recently expressed interest to play the Batman in a live-action older version following his debut as the caped crusader in the upcoming Super Pets film, which may mean Reeves may not be interested.

Beyond the fact of Ryan Gossling expressing interest, it should be noted that this is all pure speculation. The actor has shown he has a range in films from Blade Runner 2049 to the upcoming Barbie movie. Whether or not Gossling shooting his shot in this interview will pan out is only for the future to tell, but an actor of his caliber could breathe new life into a character that has remained mostly docile on the screen in recent years.
