The Next 'Pokémon Presents' Will Take Place On August 3rd

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet

The official Pokémon Twitter account announced that the next “Pokémon Presents” will occur on August 3, 2022, at 9 AM Eastern, and 6 AM Pacific. The announcement promises updates on Pokémon mobile apps and video games, including the first of the ninth generation, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The last Pokémon Presents two months ago on June 1 saw the release of Scarlet and Violet’s second trailer. The upcoming Pokémon Presents and the previous one in June have been the only major reveals for Scarlet and Violet since the game’s initial announcement in February.

The June trailer revealed new Pokémon Smoliv, Lechonk, Pawmi, and covered legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as Professors Sada and Turo. It will be interesting to see on Wednesday what new Pokémon will be identified (as the leaks had only given descriptions of new Pokémon but not their names), and what new and/or returning features will be unveiled. Fans are also expecting to hear about mobile apps like Pokémon Go, Master EX, Café Remix, Unite, and a sprinkle of Pokémon Smile in the upcoming presentation. Smile was announced to receive Johto’s 100 Pokémon in an update two days after the June Pokémon Presents.

The company’s restraint is commendable and continues from the run-up to the previous generation’s Sword and Shield. However, this had not stopped leakers from dropping news almost every other week prior to the release of the seventh generation games Sun and Moon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are scheduled to be released globally on November 18, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
