These 7 Games Will Be Coming To Games Pass Later This Month

Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft continues to refill the buffet of content on Xbox Game Pass, with seven more titles being added to the service in the first two weeks of August. We expect another slate of games to be added in the second half, with an announcement from Microsoft sometime after August 11.

So what are we going to see in the next few days? Read on to find out.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands (August 2—Cloud, Console, PC)

Ghost Recon Wildlands

2017’s Ghost Recon Wildlands was the first time that Ubisoft brought together the Ghost Recon franchise and an open-world setting. A Ghost Recon fireteam consisting of Nomad, Midas, Holt, and Weaver is dropped into Bolivia with the goal of eliminating a Mexican drug cartel operating in the region. It was positively received on release and was successful enough to warrant a sequel.

Shenzhen I/O (August 4—PC)

Shenzhen I/O

Developed by Zachtronics and released back in 2016, Shenzhen I/O is a puzzle game that puts the player in the role of an electronics engineer, building circuits and coding them while dealing with personalities from within the fictional company. While it is the least flashy game on this list, it was nominated for the “Excellence in Design” award during the 2018 Independent Games Festival.

Turbo Golf Racing (August 4—Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S)

Turbo Golf Racing

Turbo Golf Racing from Hugecalf Studios will be released simultaneously in retail stores and on Game Pass, and it belongs to the same “cars play sports” genre as Rocket League. You drive a car to bash a giant golf ball around a golf course, avoiding traps and hitting boosts in order to be the first to sink your ball in the hole. As with Rocket League, Turbo Golf Racing is an online arcade-style experience.

Two Point Campus (August 9—Cloud, Console, PC)

Two Point Campus

Another simultaneous release, Two Point Campus puts you in control of your very own university. You build your campus, hire your faculty, and choose your course offerings before watching the chaos unfold as students begin their higher learning journey. Check out Two Point Studios’ previous success, Two Point Hospital, which is already on Game Pass.

Cooking Simulator (August 11—Cloud, Console, PC)

Cooking Simulator

If you ever wanted to try your hand at managing the hectic environment and horrific dangers of being a line cook, Big Cheese Studio’s Cooking Simulator will be on Game Pass next week. As with its spiritual predecessor, Surgeon Simulator from Bossa Studios, there are plenty of opportunities to practice your techniques and get really good… or go insane and turn your kitchen into an inferno.

Expeditions: Rome (August 11—PC)

Expeditions: Rome

On the tactical roleplaying side, Expeditions: Rome from Logic Artists and THQ Nordic puts you in the boots (er, sandals) of a Roman legatus investigating the death of his father while also conquering in the name of the Roman Republic. The game has a strong narrative and excellent attention to historical details, and its difficulty level can be managed to keep you from being overwhelmed by the combat. It first came out back in January to favorable reviews.

Offworld Trading Company (August 11—PC)

Offworld Trading Company

When it was first released in 2016, Mohawk Games’ Offworld Trading Company was seen as an interesting take on real-time strategy because it eschewed warfare in favor of resource building and corporate tactics. As you work to establish your company as the pre-eminent corporate overlord of Mars, you handle trades, planning, takeovers, and even sabotage, with victory coming only after claiming a majority stake in your rivals.
