The latest episode of Star Wars: Andor Shows fans that with great patience comes great reward, and it will be well worth the wait. For fans who have thought the show's pacing was too slow, this episode should be a welcome departure from the first five episodes of the series. At long last, the plot threads that Tony Gilroy spent the first half of the season working on converge into a few pivotal moments in this episode.

The Eye reminds fans why a slower-paced narrative can be infinitely more rewarding to viewers than a show that moves at breakneck speed. By slowing the story down week after week, the relationships between the characters can build and create complex relationships between them. And perhaps, that is why Andor has such high stakes at times when the viewer already knows the fate of Cassian. It's never been Cassian that fans should have been worried about, but about the company he keeps. By taking time to explore the characters around Cassian, Andor makes the moments in this episode feel more deserving.

RELATED:

When viewers see something go wrong onscreen, it is palpable. Andor makes each character feel equally important from a narrative perspective to the titular protagonist. And that might be, in part, what sets Andor apart from almost anything else in the Star Wars franchise. During The Eye, the pacing of the show is finally able to invert itself in a way that doesn't feel out of place. Perhaps even shaking things up for the entire second half of season 1.

This episode has easily been the most rewarding to watch. Seeing everything fall into place after the long build-up in the first few episodes is a payoff that may make skeptics and critics of Andor change their tune. If nothing else, there is an amazingly shot sequence in the episode that will have everyone agreeing about the production value and cinematography of the show.

Score: 8.5/10
