Here Is All the Recent News About The Animated 'Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie'

CinemaCon 2024 has come to pass once again, bringing updates, sneak peeks, and casting reveals along the way.  In this mass of information, new details regarding the upcoming film set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe were released.  This animated film will follow an adult version of the Gaang as they embark on a new adventure.  From several voice roles being cast to a current official title, this is what we know about the upcoming movie.

One of the original cast members is reconfirmed to be making a return; Dante Basco will once again voice Zuko!  That isn’t the only core cast member to be announced.  Musician Eric Nam will be voicing the Avatar himself, Aang.  While the specific details on the character have yet to be announced, the actor of the main antagonist of the film has been cast as well.  Former wrestler and accomplished actor Dave Bautista has been cast in the currently unnamed antagonist role.  These creatives will be joined by Román Zaragoza, Jessica Matten, and Dionne Quan on the cast list.

Finally, the official title of the film at this time is Aang: The Last Airbender.  This title is incredibly similar to the 2010 live-action adaptation of Book One of the original series, The Last Airbender.  The film is currently in production with an expected release date of October 10, 2025.  Plot specificities are still being kept under wraps.  While you wait for the film to come out, the original series, as well as its follow-up, The Legend of Korra, can be streamed on Paramount+.  There is a live-action adaptation available to stream on Netflix as well.
