Casting For Comedy Sketch Series

This series features four acquaintances in an informal setting, arguing about different aspects of pop culture. Topics include Marvel, Star Wars, DC, and pop culture as a whole. These will be shot in different environments, with each character taking a different stance each episode. Episodes will run 5-10 minutes.

Series will be shot in Southern California and travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual applicants.

Marvel Fan Casting Call

Young Marvel fan and general pop culture “expert”. Any gender, preferably Gen Z (19-24). Should be fierce and adamant when defending their positions within the web series. Preferably someone with at least a background knowledge of Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and who likes to stay up to date with internet trends and pop culture in general.

Film Buff Casting Call

Young Millennial cinephile (27-32). Any gender. The character will spend a lot of time defending what they define as “high art” in cinema, such as The Sopranos, The Godfather, Tombstone, etc. This character loves a good argument and a pedantic debate. Prone to sharing their thoughts, often unprovoked, about how cinema as an art form has declined in recent decades.

The Gen-Xer Casting Call

Gen X (38-45) of any gender. This character acts as the foil for almost every other character. Written as a Southerner, but open to interpretation. This character has an opinion on every topic, but tends to mix things up, misses most of the others’ points, and oversimplifies any and all conclusions.

Average Joe

Millennial (27-35) of any gender. This character would be the average person in most scenarios, who has a broad but general knowledge of TV and film. They’ll be the first to fact check and question things, often at another character’s expense, and will provide the overall message for most episodes. They serve as the stand in for the audience.
