A First Look At The Upcoming Free-To-Play Game 'Marvel Rivals'

Despite factors such as superhero fatigue wearing down some fans, Marvel is still going strong. Its solid grip on pop culture is still showing as the upcoming video game Marvel Rivals was recently announced.

Marvel Rivals is a 6-on-6 combat game designed to feel similar to games such as Overwatch and Valorant. There will be 16 characters released at launch. The roster includes the following:

Black Panther

The Hulk

Doctor Strange

Groot

Iron Man

Loki

Luna Snow

Magik

Magneto

Mantis

Namor

Peni Parker

The Punisher

Rocket Racoon

Scarlet Witch

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

Starlord

Storm

Developer NetEase has promised that more characters will be released with every seasonal update. A pair of heroes will be able to unleash a “team up” skill that combines their power into a devastating attack that combines the strength of both characters, such as Hulk using his gamma powers to power up Ironman’s laser attacks, as seen in the trailer, which can be viewed below.

Each character will have a unique skill set that fits their role in the Marvel universe. The game will be free to play on PC. No release date has yet been made.
