After Months Of Waiting 'Star Wars: The Acolyte' Has Revealed Its Full Cast

Disney announced the full cast list of the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte this past Monday. Fans have been speculating about the hotly anticipated show since its announcement at Disney’s Investor Day in December 2020.

Little is known about the intended plot of the series. So far, press releases have revealed that the story is set in the High Republic Era of Star Wars, about 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. The series will reportedly follow the beginnings of the Sith within the Republic.

Amandla Stenberg’s casting in the lead role was announced in July of 2022. Emmy Award-winner Lee Jung-Jae, star of Netflix’s Squid Game, joins her in the lead male role. Casting announcements also included Queen & Slim star Jodie Turner-Smith, along with Manny Jacinto of Nine Perfect Strangers and The Good Place, Dafne Keen of His Dark Materials, Rebecca Henderson of Inventing Anna, Charlie Barnett of Russian Doll, Dean-Charles Chapman of 1917, and Carrie-Anne Moss of The Matrix. All roles are yet undisclosed.

The High Republic Era is reported to be “the Jedi Order at its prime.” In The Acolyte, a former Padawan and Master discover darker workings at play when they are tasked to investigate a series of crimes.

Lucasfilm released a behind-the-scenes image from the filming of this widely anticipated mystery-thriller.

The Acolyte began production on October 30 and will be released on Disney+.
