Manny Jacinto has just been announced as the newest cast member of Star WarsThe Acolyte. He joins Jodie Turner-SmithLee Jung-Jae, and Amandla Stenberg on a very intriguing roster. Manny is best known for playing himbo Jason Mendoza in The Good Place (Bortles!), but Jacinto has taken on more serious roles, such as Yao in Nine Perfect Strangers. His casting has given us very few clues as to what type of character we may see going forward, but it’s a safe bet that he will be a good guy as Manny Jacinto is rarely cast as a villain. He’s also done voice-over work in his career, so there’s no guarantee we will see him in human form.

Very little information is available about Star Wars: The Acolyte; Disney has been very tight-lipped. We think it will be released in the summer of 2023 and be set a century before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. It will focus on the rise of the Sith during the High Republic era, and it’s highly likely we will see some legends lore returning to canon. Fans are speculating about Odan-Urr, Ulic Qel-Droma, and Nomi Sunrider, as well as Darth Revan and Darth Plagueis. Also, could Manny Jacinto play an iconic character from the Expanded Universe? We’ll have to wait and see!
