John Leguizamo Was Way Closer To Playing Vulture In The MCU Than Anyone Expected

In his promotion of Violent Night’s home media release, John Leguizamo talked to ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian, where he reveals he was almost cast as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Michael Keaton had been the one to portray Vulture in that film, with rumours having marked him as Adrian Toomes before the official casting was revealed. Sony and Keaton had been trying the latter out for multiple roles, unsure of whom Keaton would fit best. Such indecision led to a second unknown actor waiting for that decision to be made.

“I was supposed to be the Vulture,” Leguizamo said. “We had negotiated and I was about to play him, and they said that Michael Keaton wanted it back and they asked me if I would give it up. I said, ‘Well, okay I guess.’” Still wanting Leguizamo to have a role in the movie, “they offered me something tiny,” he revealed. He didn’t accept.
Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in 2017, and follows Captain America: Civil War, where Peter Parker returns home and tries to return to normal Spider-Man duties after the excitement of helping the Avengers. After making a few mistakes, he has to face off against Vulture and defend New York from Adrian Toomes’s ambitions and the mistakes that he is set to make.
