Not every character has been confidently listed yet, as the creation of this film is still in the early stages.  Djimon Hounsou, who played Maximus’ friend Juba in the first film, is likely to return for the sequel however this character credit is not confirmed yet; he may return as a different character.  Denzel Washington was in the final stages of negotiation back in March, and his character is being kept tightly under wraps as he is the star of the film.  Pedro Pascal is nearing the end of the negotiation stage; things are looking good for his appearance in the film, though the character is also unnamed.

Ridley Scott’s Gladiator was a cultural phenomenon, bringing the quote-unquote “swords and sandals” genre back into the public eye while putting his own spin on it.  Gladiator 2 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 22, 2024.  More details will come as this date gets closer.
