The Best Order 66 Scenes

Order 66 is the final nail in the coffin of the Republic. It is what caused the Jedi Order to be destroyed. The clone troopers turn against a group they once fought for. It enables Emperor Palpatine to have full control and create the New Galactic Empire. As Star Wars fans, we have seen our fair share of Order 66 scenes, and each one is more heartbreaking than the last.

6. The Bad Batch

This scene from The Bad Batch showed us Caleb Dume (Kanan Jarrus) escaping from the Empire after his master Depa Billab tells him to run. We see her surrounded by the clone troopers. She tries to fight but is eventually gunned down by the soldiers.

5. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

This scene is especially jarring as you are playing as a child version of Cal Kestis in this flashback scene. He is talking to his master Jaro Tapal. Jaro senses something wrong in the Force before a clone tries to execute him. He is quick though and is able to take the trooper out. This scene is similar to what we see with Deepa and Kanan. We see Jaro falling and being killed by clones, and telling Cal to escape. It is the first time we get to play a scene like this in a game, so it hits even worse.

4. The Book Of Boba Fett

Grogu was rescued by someone from the Jedi Temple. We see a blurry, and distant scene of Jedi fighting around him, and clones shooting, taking them down. The scene is brief but gives us more insight into Grogu’s background. It also shows that Grogu was at the temple, and possibly training in the ways of the Force and Jedi arts.

3. Obi-Wan Kenobi

This scene lets us see Order 66 from the younglings’ point of view. Jedi are fighting and falling around them. Then a door opens with Anakin and the 501st Legion entering. The younglings look relieved until Anakin cuts them down. Reva is one of these younglings who would later use her pain to fight for the Empire.

2. The Clone Wars

In The Clone Wars finale, we see the clone troopers Ahsoka once commanded, and was even friends with, turn on her. She figures out there is a chip in their heads and is able to save her friend, Captain Rex. They try to run but get stopped by Commander Cody and other clone troopers. Ahsoka also hears the fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan on a comm system. This scene is incredibly heartbreaking when you realize that Rex and Ahsoka are essentially alone, and will need to survive the onslaught and the Empire.

This was the first time Star Wars fans experienced Order 66, and it is also one of the saddest ones. The Jedi that we have come to know are being slaughtered by the clones they once fought side by side. Obi-Wan was essentially off the grid, and going after General Grievous, when Order 66 happens. He finds out too late to save his friends and the rest of the order. After watching The Clone Wars, this scene becomes much sadder as it marks the end of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Order 66 has always been a big part of Star Wars. It is how the Empire rise to power and the Jedi vanishes. It is the cause of hundreds of deaths of Jedi and even children. With each new Order 66 scene, we are treated to a new perspective. While they have become somewhat of a joke with Star Wars fans, each scene gives us an insight as to what happened. Order 66 is a vital part of Star Wars, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see another perspective in the future.
