Adult Swim Will Return To San Diego Comic-Con With A Sneak Peak Of 'The Vindicators' A New Series From The Creators Of 'Rick And Morty'

Adult Swim panels at SDCC

San Diego Comic-Con is back in full force this year and Adult Swim, the number one provider for adult animation, will be present with no less than 4 panels all in Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

Starting on Friday, July 22 from 12:00 and 12:45 PM PT Michael Cusak and Zach Handel will sit down, talk and answer questions about their new animated show Smiling Friends, which deals with the optimistic Pim and the not quite as optimistic Charlie. The duo work for a company that is dedicated to bringing joy and happiness to the world around them, or at least they try.

Only 15 minutes later from 1:00 and 1:45 PM PT, Director Genndy Tartakovsky and Art Director Scott Wills will take the stage to talk about the second season of Primal, the five-time Emmy Award winner about the friendship between a Neanderthal and a Tyrannosaurus in a cruel and unforgiving prehistoric world.

For those, who want even more Tartakovsky there will be a special limited signing with the creator of Primal, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars on Friday, July 22nd between 7:00 and 9:00 AM at the Sails Pavillion.

Then, between 2:00 and 2:45 PM PT, fans will have a chance to get their first look at the Rick and Morty spin-off The Vindicators, followed by a Q&A with executive producer Sarah Carbiener and Rick and Morty producer/writer Nick Rutherford. The Vindicators is a group of superheroes inspired by the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy that was introduced in the third season of Rick and Morty. As most of them also did not survive this episode it is not clear if the show will be a prequel or if it will take place in another dimension. This question will most probably be answered during the panel on the 22nd.

Rounding out the Adult Swim panels is a discussion and Q&A about the recently premiered third season of Tuca & Bertie, a show about the (love) life of the titular bird besties, whose problems are lastly all too human. Join series creator and executive producer Lisa Hanawalt, together with the show’s stars Tiffany Haddish (Tuca), Nicole Beyer (Gamby), and Sasheer Zamata (Kara) on Saturday, July 23 from 11:15 to 12:15 PM PT also at the Indigo Ballroom.

Attendees can expect some Adult Swim surprises throughout the weekend. After all, what is Comic-Con without surprises?
