Jeremy Renner Posts On Instagram As More Details Emerge About His Accident

The news came out this past Tuesday that 51-year-old Jeremy Renner, better known as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was injured in a “weather-related accident.”
In the statement given to Entertainment Weekly by one of the actor’s representatives, Renner “suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.” He is in “critical but stable condition”, and will continue recovering at the hospital.

The accident occurred around 9 AM local time on Sunday, January 1, when Renner was using his heavy-duty snowcat to help a family member on a private road on his property near Lake Tahoe who was stuck inside a vehicle due to a recent snowstorm. Renner stepped away from the controls to speak to the person, but the snowcat started moving. According to the report, the 14,330 lb snowcat (more than three times the size of a car), rolled over him as he was trying to get back to it.
The 911 call was made close to the Mount Rose Highway, a few miles away from Reno, Nevada. Renner was first treated by his neighbors with the help of “towels and first aid” before he was airlifted by helicopter to the closest hospital for treatment.
