It was confirmed that the main cast of the upcoming series will consist of Benji Santiago, Juan Castano, Demián Bichir, André Holland, Andre Royo, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Victoria Vourkoutiotis, and Wood Harris. Brittany Adebumola, Rene Moran, Okieriete Onaodowan, and Breanna Yde will star in recurring roles. Delphi is the first of many planned spin-offs of the Creed franchise, which itself was a spin-off of the Rocky franchise. Starting life as a legacy sequel directed by Ryan Coogler, the first Creed received critical acclaim, was a breakout role for Michael B. Jordan, and earned Sylvester Stallone multiple accolades, including an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. It was followed by two sequels, Creed II (directed by Steven Caple Jr.) and Creed III (directed by Michael B. Jordan). Both films received positive reviews and were box office hits, with Creed III becoming the second highest-grossing film in the Rocky franchise. In 2023, following the success of Creed III, Amazon-MGM revealed their plans to create an entire “Creed-Verse,” with Michael B. Jordan overseeing projects as an executive producer. In addition to Delphi, other planned projects include a potential Creed IV (with Jordan expected to return as director), an anime series, and a project centered on Amara, Adonis’ daughter, introduced in Creed III. Marco Ramirez (best known for his work on Daredevil and the Tony-nominated musical Buena Vista Social Club) will act as showrunner on Delphi, while José Padilha (based known for directing the Joel Kinnaman-led RoboCop reboot from 2014 and multiple episodes of Narcos) will direct the pilot.
