RELATED:

Ventress was one of the best characters to come out of the Clone Wars, and for that alone, she deserves better than what happened to her. She was a character with a tragic backstory, who eventually turns away from the dark side and towards the light. She started out training with the lightside of the force, until her master was killed. She then embraced the darkside and fell under the guidance of Count Dooku as an apprentice, but actually became a sith assassin. Eventually she was betrayed by Count Dooku, and left for dead, but she survived and went back to Dathomir, where her family was eventually slaughtered by Dooku. After this, she leaves to search the galaxy for purpose again, and then rescues Obi-Wan Kenobi from Darth Maul, and his brother, Savage Opress. (When she saves Obi-Wan, its personally one of my all-time favorite lightsaber battles). She helps Ahsoka when she is wrongly accused of bombing the jedi temple. Then, she helps Quinlan Vos, sacrificing herself for him. After she dies, she is buried in her clan's waters on Dathomir, and is honored by the jedi. She could've done so much more if she wasn't killed off. There could've been a chance we saw her in the Kenobi show (and still could, maybe just in a flashback). We could've seen her in The Bad Batch as well. Such a great character, didn't deserve the end she got.

In Legends though, which is unfortunately no longer canon, she actually lives through the clone wars.

It hurts that we never got an animated send off for her. The last we heard and saw of her was in season 5, when she helped Ahsoka. After that, it's like she didn't even exist. Don't get me wrong, season 7 of the Clone Wars was incredible, but we deserved to see Ventress one last time, and have her story conclude that way. There was no mention of her at all after season 5. The next time we heard of her was in The Dark Disciple. The Dark Disciple was a book based on an unfinished Clone Wars arc. I love the Star Wars books, but for a character as cool as Ventress, she deserved to have her death onscreen. Even more so, as the book could've been the closure she should've gotten in the Clone Wars. She got the redemption she deserved, and deserved to live, at least past the Clone Wars, so we could see her in new content.

Ventress was redeemed and ended up sacrificing herself for someone she loved. Personally, Quinlan Vos should’ve died. He turned to the dark side-yes, I know it was the fault of Count Dooku, but he embraced it. He does turn back to the light, but to me, that's not enough. Ventress refused to embrace the darkside once more. She has one of the best stories, and is one of the best characters to come out of the clone wars. She deserves to get her own show, and be in more content. She deserves better than what she got.

Even though she may be dead, we may start seeing her again in content. Most recently it was announced that she is going to be a variant cover for the Halcyon Legacy comic. She will also be a prominent role in the comic. This was a pleasant surprise, as we haven't seen her in content for years. Since this comic series is set exclusively in the Clone Wars era, we could see her in even more, and as a huge Ventress fan, I am still holding out hope we see her in live action one day.
