'Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham' To Be Adapted Into An Animated Movie According To DC Comics
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con had been full of news and trailers. DC had its fair share of the spotlight too. In addition to their silver screen flagships Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Warner Bros., the company that owns DC Comics, announced a new Batman animated movie. Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham will be the new addition to the crowded DC Animated Universe (DCAU), which has been gaining traction among fans.
According to DC’s website, the story revolves around “Bruce Wayne unintentionally unleash[ing] a dark evil on his city.” The movie will be based on a three-part comic mini-series of the same name from 2000, which was co-written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. The storyline contains Lovecraftian horror elements and features important figures like The Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul, and Man-Bat. It is possible for other heroes and villains such as Robin, Mr. Freeze, and Two-Face to also appear in the DCAU adaptation. Considering its gothic and horror themes, this animated film may be similar to Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, which is also set in Victorian-themed Gotham.

There is currently no exact release date for Batman: Doom That Came to Gotham although it is expected to come out sometime in 2023. Two other DCAU animations, Green Lantern: Beware My Power and Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, will be released on July 26, and October 18, respectively.
