Warner Bros. Television Studios chairwoman  Channing Dungey shared a bit of exciting news with attendees at Content London. The company is closing on a deal with Amazon Studios to release animated DC content. Dungey teased some of Zaslav’s vision. In addition to the new DC content and branching out to different platforms, like HBO Max and Amazon, Zaslav has expressed interest in jump-starting the next Harry Potter story.

The studio’s passion projects have a few bumps in the road to overcome. On the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are looking to lower their production costs. Dungey shares her experience with show business, “There was a feeling for a while that if you’re not spending $10 million dollars an hour then you’re not doing your job. But it doesn’t take that to make a great show and doing things differently in the pandemic underscored that.” Dungey also hinted at a coming writer’s strike. She says she hopes to avoid it but is aware of some unresolved issues.
