The new Destiny 2 expansion has been announced, and it will be epic!

During the Destiny 2 Showcase 2022, Bungie announced that the new Destiny 2 expansion, Lightfall, will be arriving early next year. In addition, the developer revealed a trailer and images from the game showing new locations, characters, and plenty of action.

The new expansion will see players traveling to Neptune to the mysterious city of Neomuna, and it is unlike anything players have seen before. The city was not touched by the collapse, so it is still a bustling city with tall buildings and neon lights flooding every street. Players will also be introduced to new characters, including the Cloud Striders, the city’s protectors.

The slogan of the new expansion, “Stopping the end times won’t be an easy task,” hints at the looming conclusion to the Light and Dark saga. Guardians will also be given a new ability called Strand that will allow players to see a new green reality where they can pull strength from a power unseen. The villain players battling in the new expansion were revealed to be Calus and his Shadow Legion.

The game is available to pre-order now, and when players pre-order the Lightfall plus Annual Pass Edition, they will be given instant access to a new exotic weapon, the Quicksilver Storm.

Destiny 2: Lightfall releases on February 28, 2023.
