Genndy Tartakovsky has another cartoon coming to television, and this one has been in the works for quite some time. Unicorn Warriors Eternal, originally developed for Cartoon Network's Sunday night ACME block for a kids and family audience, is set to premiere on Adult Swim May 4th at Midnight, with encores airing on the Toonami block.

The series follows a group of ancient heroes who, through countless reincarnations, have kept evil at bay. However, their reincarnation cycle is interrupted by a sorceress named Melinda, and these warriors’ souls are flung into the bodies of unsuspecting teenagers who don't remember who they are and are unable to control their powers. Now, while adjusting to their new bodies, they must combat this ultimate evil in the various forms it takes.

The cartoon is set to be a 10-episode mini series akin to Over the Garden Wall and with an animation style similar to Samurai Jack and Primal. Unicorn Warriors Eternal is set to be one of Adult Swim’s more ambitious premieres alongside My Adventures with Superman, which is set to air on Toonami as well. Be sure to see this exciting action cartoon when it premieres, and even catch the encores on Toonami!
