HBO MAX Has Released The First Full Length Trailer For ‘Harley Quinn’ Season 3

DC
Harley Quinn and gang in Harley Quinn Season 3

DC has been ramping up the excitement for their upcoming shows and movies lately. Today, HBO Max released the first full-length trailer for Harley Quinn Season 3, which does not disappoint. Poking fun at well-known characters while delivering heartfelt tales, Harley Quinn has been a wacky send-up for fans and casual audiences alike. With nods to Batman the Animated Series, giving audiences a full-fledged Bat Family, and a possible tease for this season’s big villain, the third season looks like something the audience will be talking about for quite a while.

The show last left off with Ivy and Harley Quinn riding off into the sunset celebrating their acceptance of their true love for one another. While fans may have expected the show to give them a romantic new season, this trailer shows that there may be some trouble in paradise. The whole gang looks to be back together (with Bane joining the squad), but Harley may not want to be the big bad that she has been trying so hard to become over the last two seasons. These snippets of new villainy are quickly followed by the once level-headed Ivy transitioning into a full-blown supervillain. Harley appears to be troubled by the change, struggling to accept Ivy’s dark side that has come to the forefront. This leads her to work with…Batman?

RELATED:

Not only does Batman look to play a major role in this season, but the entire Bat Family. The trailer also gives a first look at Nightwing premiering in the new season as he returns to Gotham. Teaming up with Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Harley, they’re tasked to prevent Ivy from terraforming Gotham and return it to its natural roots. This Bat Family team-up is reminiscent of the old Batman the Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures, going as far as to show Harley, Clayface, and King Shark drop into what appears to be the setting of it. The red skies and buildings may just be a nod to what came before rather than a full-fledged homage.

With Ivy becoming the villain, Joker running for mayor, and Harley becoming a hero, there’s no telling what kind of surprises this season may hold. The prior two seasons have deeply explored the main characters in a tongue-in-cheek manner, so expect plenty of laughs and plenty of tears from this one. Catch Harley Quinn Season 3 when it drops on HBO Max on July 28th.
