At D23 Expo this Saturday, Disney announced part of the cast for their upcoming Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures animated series. Emma Berman (Luca, Pinnochio) has been cast as the pilot Nash Durango, and Jamaal Avery Jr. (Her Only Choice) is set to voice Kai Brightstar, a young Jedi. The two were the only actors confirmed thus far for the show.

According to Deadline, the target audience for this Disney Junior and Disney+ series will be preschoolers, unlike previous animated series like The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch, which have a more serious approach. Rebels tried something similar, looking for a compromise between adults and younger viewers.

According to the official Star Wars Twitter account back in May, the series will take place during the High Republic era. The Golden Age of the Jedi is a perfect setting for stories like Young Jedi Adventures. Since the High Republic books have shown that Master Yoda was around during this time period, it is very possible to see an interaction between him and the younglings in training.

The series is slated for a Spring 2023 release. Not much else about the show has been revealed at this time.
