When the DC Universe app began as a streaming service, it faced an uphill battle. Only containing DC movies and shows that were rotated, at times, with HBO led to many asking why they would even need the app. As time went on, the app shut down before rebranding as solely a comic book service. A few of the original series that spawned from there ended up going over to HBO Max with varying success.

While it never reached the heights or notoriety of Harley Quinn the Animated Series, Doom Patrol has continuously remained a fan and critical darling. But, just as Titans, it was revealed that Season 4 would be its last. The first half of the show has already premiered, leaving the second half yet to be released. This has worried a lot of fans because Titans employed the same release strategy, although both halves of that series’ final season have already aired. James Gunn took to Twitter to clarify that the show will air the second half of its season, stating:

“I now have confirmation: As I surmised, no, Doom Patrol episodes are absolutely NOT being shelved, even though the premiere date for the next shows hasn’t been announced to the public.”

This will no doubt leave fans with a sigh of relief. The cancellation of the show was a blow to fans and also one of the last nails in the coffin of the DC Universe original series. With Doom Patrol over, it leaves just Harley Quinn still going strong. Doom Patrol can be streamed, almost in its entirety, on Max. Stay tuned with CultureSlate for the release date of its final episodes.
