Jon Favreau has revealed some of the things fans can look forward to when season 3 of The Mandalorian finally returns in February. Season 2 ended in December 2020, and while Din Djarin and Grogu continued their story in season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett, fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of The Mandalorian. Hoping to learn if Grogu is really done with his Jedi training, if Din will be able to reconcile with his tribe, and what role, if any, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand will play.

Favreau revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly (via Starwarsnews.net) that the planet of Mandalore will play a prominent role in the new season. While the planet was featured heavily in The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, the planet has only been seen in memories or stories in The Mandalorian.

Favreau teased that the different Mandalorian groups that have been seen in the animated series and previous seasons of The Mandalorian will be “coming together” in the new season to a “nexus point for all of those communities”. Favreau emphasized how different each of the groups are and how they will play a role in Din’s attempt at becoming a Mandalorian again in the eyes of his tribe.

What are you looking forward to most in The Mandalorian season 3?

The Mandalorian season 3 is set to release in February 2023 on Disney+.
