Pedro Pascal Teases Mando's Reluctant Leadership Role In 'The Mandalorian' Season 3

The Mandalorian Din Djarin with Grogu

The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer was shown exclusively to attendees at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. This season looks to show the aftermath of Din Djarin winning the Darksaber and also explore new storylines. There have been hints that Bo-Katan will also take a more antagonistic role this season. Carl Weathers (Greef Karga) has also confirmed that there will be "many different stories within the story." Most recently, Pedro Pascal revealed that Din has a new story of his own to explore this season.

Pedro Pascal has said Din will take on a "reluctant leadership position" in the upcoming season and that this new role has been “really fun to explore.” The first two seasons of The Mandalorian showed that the leadership role is hard for him, as he has always been used to being a lone wolf, and someone who just wants to get the job done. He will need to sort out the internal struggle in Season 3 as he evolves from a bounty hunter to a father figure.

The Book of Boba Fett revealed that not all Mandalorians support Din’s possession of the Darksaber. This will carry over to The Mandalorian Season 3 with Bo-Katan leading the opposition against the fan-favorite bounty hunter. Katee Sackhoff has said that her character is "out there preparing to strike to take the Darksaber from Din." She also revealed that Bo-Katan is dealing with the fallout of not winning the Darksaber, and is reevaluating after such a failure. The trailer has also shown that Bo-Katan has significant scenes with Grogu and they do not appear to be friendly. Sackhoff further mentioned that every single thing with the Child is “very very thought out.”

It seems that Din will have a lot to deal with in season 3. Hopefully, he can handle it all and accept that he is the ruler that Mandalore needs.
