In a world of prequels, sequels, and remakes, no franchise is ever truly finished. That said, Planet of the Apes is set to make its triumphant return to the big screen according to their Twitter account. 

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is slated for a 2024 release, putting it just two years out. The film will be directed by Wes Ball (The Maze Runner), and will star Owen Teague (The Stand), Freya Allen (The Witcher), and Peter Macon (The Orville). Production is set to begin next month.

Picking up years after War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), which was directed by The Batman director Matt Reeves, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes looks to not only build upon the universe but also create a new saga of films. Their last outing saw great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at an 84% fan rating. After a few years, it seems that fans of the franchise are more than ready for the return.

Get ready for another reboot of the famed series that refuses to stay dormant!
