Hayden Christensen Talks About His Favourite Sequel Trilogy Character

Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker

Hayden Christensen is getting a lot of love these days, from media attention to adoration from fans. For a few months now he's been on a media tour for Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, often touring and being interviewed alongside the star of the show, Ewan McGregor.

In one such interview with Infobae out of Argentina, Hayden talks about his thoughts on the new characters and the new era of Star Wars. Interestingly enough, and perhaps a funny little familial bias is involved, Christensen remarks that he "...really enjoyed the Kylo Ren character. And I really liked what Adam Driver did with that." He goes on further to talk about how he enjoyed the character of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian, and just overall he's excited about the new era of Star Wars and all the new characters we get to experience. Christiensen also praised Moses Ingram and her portrayal of Reva in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

It's funny that he would choose to highlight Kylo Ren, given that the character is his character's grandson. It's also refreshing to see the newfound attention and admiration that Christensen is receiving for coming back to play Darth Vader. In the interview, he mentions how surprising it was to receive the call to come back, and how excited he was to return to a character that has had a profound impact on his life. In an interview with William Mullally, Hayden remarks that the adoration he's received from fans is "heartwarming, I can't tell you what it means to me...I guess the moral of the story is patience." He's referring, of course, to some of the negative attention that some fans expressed after the prequel movies where he assumed the role of Anakin Skywalker. It would seem that time does indeed heal all wounds, or perhaps it's something to say about how the years reveal more to us about the things we used to think we knew.

Fans will have to wait just a few more days to see what more is shown of Darth Vader when episode four of Obi-Wan Kenobi airs on Wednesday on Disney+.
