With the MCU in full swing, it can be easy to forget that comics are still a thing. The Wasp has been around for 60 years now, so it’s time to celebrate. Marvel has announced a new limited series titled WASP, written by Al Ewing and drawn by Kasia Nie.

The story centers around Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, as she begins to start a new chapter in her life. However, a villain from her past returns to ruin everything. Aided by her protege and stepdaughter Nadia, the two come face to face against an organization with connections to both of their pasts. Who are they? You’ll have to read on to find out.

With Wasp being well represented as Ant-Man’s sidekick in the MCU, it’s still a good sight to see Marvel keeping her in the comics. With many reports of Marvel downplaying characters that aren’t in the MCU yet, most notably the X-Men, it’s great to see a founding member of the Avengers make it into the MCU, and remain prominent throughout all of this. WASP launches its first issue on January 1, 2023. Will you be there to claim a copy?
