Marvel’s Werewolf By Night special is the first title in the supernatural realm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Long-time composer Michael Giacchino, from Spiderman: No Way Home and Thor: Love and Thunder fame, will helm the director’s chair. This horror outing promises the introduction of Man-Thing, Werewolf, and possibly more bizarre characters.

Werewolf By Night Executive producer Brian Gay teased the upcoming special is only the beginning of introducing these unearthly personalities to fans. “What all this lends to is the idea that for centuries there have been monsters within the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they’ve been being tracked or hunted of kept at bay….”

Since Kevin Feige first announced the upcoming Blade film starring Mahershala Ali, fans are abuzz to find out who the vampire vigilant will battle. Many considered the new Blade film as an introduction to the supernatural side of the MCU; however, Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night appear to take the lead in showing audiences precisely what is lurking in the shadows of the MCU. Gay finished his remarks by saying, “And I think, well, we don’t know exactly where they’ll pop up next, the idea is that, with this wide swatch of different species and types, they’re going to pop up again….” Perhaps, this is a signal to fans awaiting a proper adaptation of the Midnight Sons property for the MCU. There are hopes this will become a reality.

Werewolf by Night releases on October 7 on Disney+, and Blade is to release on November 3, 2023.
