Netflix Releases Promo Images From 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery'

Rian Johnson’s 2019 Blockbuster, Knives Out was an immense success and fans are ecstatic to learn that a sequel is set to release; according to Netflix “Rian Johnson's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is coming to select theaters on a date to be announced and globally on Netflix December 23!” Daniel Craig will reprise his role as detective Benoit Blanc. The original had a fun, classic cozy mystery feel to it and with the return of Craig as Detective Blanc fans can expect continued excitement reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s beloved character, Inspector Hercule Poirot. Johnson has been quoted as loving the whodunit murder mystery comparing the adventure to a puzzle box and rollercoaster as fans try to figure out the mystery right along with Detective Blanc.
The sequel will follow suit to the original as the characters will be represented through an all-star ensemble cast. Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson & Dave Bautista are all signed on to attend the party! According to IndieWire, Netflix released the following synopsis of the upcoming movie’s plot – “tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island but that it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. The description reads: And when someone turns up dead, well, who better than Blanc to peel back the layers of intrigue?”

Blanc will receive an invitation to the party on Bron’s (Norton’s) private Greek Island, already thickening the possibilities of the plot and objectives of whomever the murderer may be. Johnson has revealed that the sequel will be shot from Detective Blanc’s point of view opening many opportunities to see this fun character return in future sequels in the franchise.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is set to premier at the Toronto International Film Festival in September (Date TBA) before its select theatrical release and December 23 streaming debut on Netflix.
