Oscar Isaac Might Be Ready To Make A Return As Poe Dameron In 'Star Wars'

A couple of years ago, Oscar Isaac was pretty much burnt out from filming Star Wars films. It was like he was ‘so over’ being Poe Dameron, the best fighter pilot of the Resistance. In 2020, Oscar Isaac commented on making Star Wars-sized movies,

It’s not really what I set out to do. What I set out to do was to make handmade movies, and to work with people that inspire me… It feels like for me a personal turning point and that, as far as I’m concerned, it has nothing to do with the finished product. It’s the process of doing this.

Oscar Isaac joked one time in 2020, stating he would only return to Star Wars if he needed money and “If I need another house or something.” But as of August 2022, Oscar Isaac has changed his tune and is ready for more Star Wars. Oscar Isaac just came off a huge hit in Moon Knight, Disney+’s streaming hit of 2022 for the MCU. Oscar Isaac commented on the difference between Moon Knight and Star Wars,

The idea of getting back to ‘handmade’ films, character studies… I was desperate for that feeling. Moon Knight felt handmade. And it’s the first legitimate Marvel character-study since Iron Man. I thought, maybe I can hijack this thing. Maybe this is the chance to do something really fucking nutty on a major stage.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for Oscar Isaac to return or for Poe Dameron to return, for that matter, to Star Wars. He’ll have to wait and see. When Sirius XM asked Oscar Isaac about a return to Star Wars, he commented, that he is open to anything as long as a great director like Kathy Kennedy tells him she has this great idea for him in a Star Wars film then he would be interested in it.

It will be interesting to see what happens next with Disney productions that Oscar Isaac has starred in. His characters in Moon Knight and Star Wars films are both grand stories. It is very cool these guys get excited about these productions.
