On October 8th, Paramount+ released their trailer for season two of Star Trek: Prodigy. Prodigy follows six children who have come into possession of a very special Starfleet ship, the Protostar. Season one was spent escaping The Diviner, a sinister alien who had enslaved the main cast. The children had the help of hologram Kathryn Janeway, with Kate Mulgrew reprising her role from Star Trek: Voyager. She guided them in the use of the ship as well as teaching life lessons. From the trailer, season two looks like the crew of the Protostar will have to escape Starfleet and the real-life Admiral Janeway. They will also learn a lot about themselves along the way.

Season two of Prodigy will debut on October 27th in the US and a day later in Latin America, Australia, Italy, and the UK. The announcement also included some additions to the cast in recurring roles. These include Robert Beltran reprising his Voyager role as Chakotay and Ronny Cox reprising his Next Generation role as Edward Jellico. New characters will be voiced by Daveed Diggs, Jameela Jamil, Jason Alexander, and Billy Campbell. Prodigy is the first Trek series aimed at kids. New episodes will drop every Thursday.
