Warner Bros. Pictures and DC released today, after their San Diego Comic-Con panel, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods, setting a December date to release it to the public. This new footage shows the Shazam family once again, but adding the villains of the film, and the comeback of an old ally to help the heroes. The trailer reveals for the first time Hespera and Kalypso as the movie’s antagonists, played respectively by Hellen Mirren and Lucy Liu. Zachary Levi, who plays Shazam, posted on Instagram the trailer, commenting the following:

The movie is supposed to be set a few years after the first one, with Zachary Levi’s character questioning why the family split into different adventures. The trailer shows him trying to gather everyone and be one again as they were in the first place. According to Cinema Blend, Mirren and Liu are going to play Atlas’ daughters, the god from whom Shazam takes his powers. Rachel Zegler’s character was finally revealed, and she is supposed to play another daughter of Atlas. Djimon Hounsou also returns as “The Wizard”, who warns Shazam that “the fate of the world depends on it”, meaning that he has to act according to the wizard’s instructions to save the day once again.
