This is the way…to promote season 3. The Mandalorian, one of the biggest shows in helping to launch Disney+, will be coming to cable TV, for one night.

With the March 1st premiere of season 3 less than a month away, Disney is really building up the hype. First, there was the release of a season 3 trailer. Very soon, the pilot episode of the show, simply called “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”  will appear on cable on the night of Friday, February 24th, 2023.

For those who have not seen the series, or who simply need a reminder the 41-minute episode introduced us to the titular character at the start. However, for many, it is remembered for how it ended: with the introduction of the cultural phenomenon Grogu, better known by his fan-made name “Baby Yoda”. The adorable little green alien has become so popular, that he had a balloon of him in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. With commercials added in, the episode will last an hour.

In the time since Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker was released in 2019, the vast majority of new Star Wars content was locked behind the Disney paywall, with numerous TV series exclusive to Disney+. The first of these series was The Mandalorian, which premiered on the Disney+ launch day of November 12, 2019.

The show will appear on ABC, Freedom, and FX from 8 PM until 9 PM on February 24th, 2023, with the season 3 premiere coming to Disney+ on March 1st.
