The Star Of 'Madame Web' Confirms The Initial Filming Is Complete

As Sony Pictures tries to build its universe of Spider-Man characters without Spider-Man, with two Venom movies and a Morbius under its belt, it continues with a TV series for Silk and movies. These movies are for Kraven the Hunter later this year, and two more characters next year: one for El Muerto, the newest non-Spiderverse character Sony has taken on yet, and one for Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson.

While there have been no specifics on the movie’s plot, or whether filming has completely wrapped, Johnson did reveal to Variety that the initial phase has. She also shared her experience as “something that I don’t think you can be prepped to go into…but I learned so much. It’s a completely different way of making films.” She elaborated that she followed this film up with a smaller one from her own company, so she seemed very pleased getting a “real taste” of different kinds of cinema.

Madame Web also stars Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, and Zosia Mamet. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 16, 2024.
