Possible ‘Star Wars’ Projects To Be Announced At D23 2022

Even though the Star Wars Celebration has ended, the world of announcements at Lucasfilm continues as it is revealed that Lucasfilm along with Marvel will have a presence at D23 this year on September 8- 10, 2022 at Anaheim Convention Center. More specifically, the Lucasfilm panel will take place on Saturday, September 10. The special Disney convention is a time for the company to announce all sorts of projects, or perhaps they won’t announce anything. It is really hard to say. Historically, D23 is where more announcements are made whereas Celebration focuses on things that we already know are in development.

Ever since Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm, the company has made more announcements at previous D23 than at Celebration. For example, Obi-Wan Kenobi was announced at the 2019 D23 instead of at Star Wars Celebration that same year. D23 also tends to focus on theatrical releases. With Star Wars film projects like Rogue Squadron, Taika Waititi’s unnamed project, and another unknown film coming down the pipeline, the expectation will be for Lucasfilm to provide an update at D23.

With the current focus on Star Wars Disney+ series, hopefully, there will be announcements regarding the film side soon. D23 might be just the place for Lucasfilm to show us how they want to expand the galaxy far, far away.
